The HCFAClaims Adapter performs readymade conversion of HCFA Print Image files to X12N / HIPAA 837(Professional) based on a HCFA Control file layout. A HCFA Control file is constructed for every installation to capture the subtle differences between the various HCFA Print Image files generated by different PMS or other systems. It takes a couple of hours to construct this HCFA Control file based on HCFA Print Image layout and some sample HCFA Print Image claims. We have a GUI tool for creating the control files. As this HCFA Control file is constructed empirically from sample HCFA Print Image files are available, it could take a few iterations to arrive at 100 percent quality of output X12N / HIPAA generated. Clients for this Adapter include Billing Service Bureaus, Hospitals/Clinics, Healthcare BPOs and Healthcare Solution vendors.
This adapter also supports transformation of HCFA CSV files to 837(P) based on a CSV Map file. A HCFA CSV Map file is constructed for every installation to capture the CSV file layout that is being fed to this adapter. We have a GUI tool for creating this HCFA CSV Map. It takes a couple of hours to create and test a CSV map.
The HCFAClaims Adapter is also internally used in our other products and solutions like expEDIum Claims Reconciliation (eCR) and expEDIum Claims Portal (eCP). It uses the expEDIum X12N Engine internally to perform translations. This adapter supports the 08/05 version of the HCFA form and is National Provider Identification (NPI) ready.
